Why did you join us as Managing Director at Vopak Nordic?
I think Vopak Nordic has an interesting terminal network with a lot of potential. After meeting the staff I got more enthusiastic because the organization is young with a bright future and many ideas. I also saw it challenging to move abroad with my family and learn a new culture.

What experience do you bring with you from your previous occupations?
From the Navy I take with me the high safety standards. I served as a gunnery officer and working daily with armed weapons requires high safety awareness. From my career in the private sector, it‘s the experience with the value of customer orientation in the organization. It’s also the aspects of being a B2B partner.

How will it be noticed that Vopak Nordic has a new MD?
It will be noticed through growth and co-operation tasks. Execution will be a key word on all working areas from safety to commercial.

What is on top of your to-do-list?
Safety! Not just nuts and bolts but also how we, the personnel, operate in our daily duties. The launch of Sund & Säker is a very interesting and important step in that direction which we will continue with new elements every year.

How will you strengthen Vopak Nordics leading position on the market?
It will be by acting as a reliable and professional partner to our customers. We shall act as a partner who know the industry and help the customer to get the most out of their business. It will also be strengthened through continuous of challenges in safety and performance.

What is hardest with learning the Swedish language?
The Swedish letters are quite tough and when Swedes speak it goes so fast and every sentence sounds like one very long word.
